Be the Church 4: Speak Truth

Jesus said we are to let our light shine so that people see our good works and so glorfiy God. This means that being the church includes sharing one’s truth in connection with doing good things, so that people connect with the Lord. So pray and think about the people in your life, and invite someone to join in the New Way conversation who you think may benefit from the sharing of ideas and affection that is this church.

The Church is a spiritual community. It is not just something you attend, use, support or interact with, but something you become. Be the church by worshipping the Lord and serving humanity.

Here are the readings from “Speak Truth”:

Matthew 5:14-16

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Soul and Body 18:2

…Of what use is knowledge unless it be communicated? What is it, but like collecting and storing up riches in a casket, and only looking at them occasionally and counting them over, without any intention of applying them to use? Spiritual avarice is nothing else.
